First good snow
This is our first newsletter of the new season and comes just after the first good dusting of snow in the valley; a promising start to 06/07. We will be sending newsletters to you throughout the season to keep you up to date on snow reports, events and members’ benefits – we’ve got lots planned. For now, here’s a quick update and we’ll be in touch again soon.
We only have 100 freebies (annual subscription is normally £26.50) so it is first-come-first-served by emailing kirsten@clubhouse.fr with either ‘Onboard’ or ‘Cooler’ in the subject heading please.
Room availability - Christmas and New Year breaks
Almost every single room is now already booked from Wed-Sun until early April but we still have some good early week (Sun-Wed) rooms available as well as the following slots for Christmas and New Year breaks.
Room rates etc are all here.
Ski lifts and passes
Depending on snow conditions most of the lifts throughout the valley will be totally open from 23 Dec and a partial opening is planned from 02 Dec. Check out the latest opening information here.
The 2006/2007 season lift passes are now on sale with a 30% discount if you purchase before 20 November. A Mont Blanc total season pass is 665€ and a Chamonix season pass is 455€. You can download the form here, you will also need two passport photos.
We can also fax the form to you or help you with the application if you need. Email poppy@clubhouse.fr for assistance. Chamonix London Connection From Fri-Sun 24-26 Nov, Londoners have the opportunity to enjoy a little bit of Chamonix whilst still at home. The London Chamonix Connection is returning for the second year running to the Hungry Tiger Studios in Fulham. This art-driven 3-day event starts at 6pm on Fri 24 Nov with an invitation-only viewing. We will be there on Friday from 6-11pm mixing a selection of our favourite cocktails and offering you an opportunity to sample our new season cocktail list. If you bring your membership card with you, there’ll be a free drink or two on us. You can sign up here for your invitation. The Clubhouse Rules! We are trying to put together a list of ‘Rules by Which we Live’ at The Clubhouse . . . and we need your help please. The plan is to create a (hopefully) witty list of snow do’s and don’ts so that your guests and our other visitors can have no doubts about the way it goes down in the valley. Our list should include elements of mountain etiquette and (like the Milk & Honey House Rules) they should also be prescriptive. Ideally they will offend many people and be packed with Chamonix valley attitude. We would love to hear your contributions and there is a large bar tab for any that make it in to our final list. Here are some we’ve been working on:
Please email your suggestions to jd@clubhouse.fr That’s it for now. We’ll email you again in a week or so with more news.
