New for Winter 2007

New Food

The Breakfast Club – We’ve got a new Sunday Breakfast Club being run for us by chef Simon Sutcliffe from Sublime Dining. You can join us from 8am until noon every Sunday for a selection of hot breakfasts including the essential Full English. For the full menu click here.

We’ve got a new dinner menu for this year including a mouth-watering selection of Modern European favourites with bold Asian flavours and some stuff you won’t find elsewhere in the valley. We offer an à la carte menu on Mon, Thu, Fri and Sat; and then the rest of the week is like this:

  • * Tuesday is often the busiest night when we fire up our ‘Steak & Lobster Snow BBQ’ char-grilled and bursting with Asian flavours from teriyaki steak to Thai-spiced poulet noir (25-40€).
  • * Wednesdays are the best value when for 18€ you get our Big Bowl menu – a changing range of some ‘hot pot’ classics from Thai Green Curry with coriander rice to Shepherd’s Pie with Savoy cabbage.
  • * On Sundays we do a great hot breakfast spread at our Breakfast Club from 8am until noon as well as a fantastic roast (served from 5-9pm).

On Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays you might struggle to get a table (and the price goes up to 30€-35€ for three courses) but for starters you’ll be eating:

  • * Wild mushroom veloute with garlic croutons
  • * Seared yellow fin tuna tataki with ginger, soy & wasabi
  • * Roast scallops on a Jerusalem artichoke puree with a red wine butter sauce for starters

Followed by mains like:

  • * Parmesan risotto with smoked haddock, herbs and a soft poached egg
  • * Daube of Charolais beef on a horseradish mash
  • * Roast Challonaise duck, fondant potato, port wine cassis sauce

And if that’s not enough for you then finish off with dessert:

  • * Agen prune & Armagnac crème brulee
  • * Chocolate brioche & butter pudding
  • * Mirabelle plum and almond tart with Armagnac custard

After coffee you’ll struggle to find a better selection of fine and rare Scotch, bourbon and Armagnac.

Alpine DIY Itineraries

In the 21st century it’s all about Alpine DIY . . . no chalet week with flights and food included please. The easyJet generation goes when there’s snow, flies where they like, eats when they want and stays at The Clubhouse! But . . . independent DIY-ers can often find themselves in unfamiliar territory; to ensure they get the best out of the day and the conditions, we provide our guests with detailed day time itineraries giving the inside track for all levels keen to make the most from the snow and go where only the locals know. Whether it’s off-piste and avalanches, airborne over Italy, Bond-style glamour or back country boarding, we have a variety of Chamonix valley plans for all round adventure. This season’s specials include:

And we had to include an old favourite … The Clubhouse’s ‘Sky High Myla’.

Big Wednesday

We’ve got so much going on every Wednesday at The Clubhouse that we’ve decided to call it ‘Big Wednesday’.

Rare whiskies - Every evening will kick off from 6-8pm with a Whiskey tasting. We recently bought some fine and rare old Scotch to add to our already large collection of whiskies from around the world – Irish, American and Japanese. Each week we will have a free tasting of a selection of some of our favourites. The plan is for this to become a relaxed and informal way for you to take your Wednesday aperitif by enjoying the different styles and types of whiskey we stock. The first tasting will begin at 6pm on Wednesday 10 Jan.

Big Bowl – Each week we’re doing a Big Bowl of something good for 18€. Think Beef & Ale Pie with Savoy cabbage, Shepherd’s pie, Thai chicken curry … and don’t forget dessert.

Big Bowl of Punch – If you’ve missed out on the Whiskey tasting our bartenders will have organised an alternative for you: each Wednesday we’ll have a Big Bowl of Punch on the go to make sure you can enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail on us.

And if that isn’t enough, the evening will continue with some relaxed lounge sounds from 9pm to 2am with local DJs Nick Hoax and Uncle Joe (who will play on alternate Wednesdays for the rest of the winter season).
