"Chamonix is truly different from any other ski resort in the world. Anyone who has learned the basics on the rolling pastures of the Austrian Tyrol or in the purpose-built 'ski factories' of the French Tarentaise is in for a stupendous shock. This is high Alpine territory, where misjudging the severity of a run or the sudden changes of weather above 3,000m can cost a life. Someone has gone up - or down - every slope, no matter how dangerous, in what is still acknowledged as the climbing and extreme skiing capital of the world."
Ski Club of Great Britain

"I love Chamonix in the summer. The weather is generally glorious and fresh and there is no shortage of things to do (or not do). For me, a short summer break or week away at The Clubhouse promises the relaxed atmosphere of an English country house but with much better weather, delicious food, mountain air, and a view of Mont Blanc towering over the terrace. Plus there's the option to do something more challenging with your day than deciding whether to have the lamb or the salmon for dinner. If you're not quite up to climbing Mont Blanc, there's everything from rock-climbing and paragliding to mountain biking, golf, white water rafting, forest walks, swimming and tennis."
Jonathan Downey

In short, Chamonix is -

*   Even busier in the summer than in the winter.
*   Only 60 minutes from Geneva Airport.
*   Better for intermediate and advanced skiers than beginners.
*   '. . . still acknowledged as the climbing and extreme skiing capital of the world.'
*   A destination for skiers and Alpinists (with mountaineering, canyoning, white water rafting, mountain biking, hiking etc in the summer months) as well as for tennis, golf and yoga enthusiasts.
